    the bold over sized words
    Pretty cool nonetheless!

Guys, thank you so much for positive response !:)

It's also not easy to find people who keep anaglyph glasses, therefore
double my joy you found some time to check it out. What i want is to start
creating a small jQuery anaglyph library so it can add specific new
functionality to jQuery's .animate() to enable "depth" animation and so
on. Will post back here if i got something :)

I generally have a few rules when it comes to designing for web and mostly
its borne out of the traditional print design disciplines that I learnt
before the web came along. Unfortunately now everyone has become a
"designer" without any real knowledge ever since the internet gold rush.. ;)

My top ten tips on designŠ

    1. TypographyŠ This will determine how well the site looks and its
    legibility.
    2. Grid and order of layouts.. Alignment (visible and invisible)
    3. Effective and consistent use of headings, sub headings, and copy
    4. Doing away with 100% width designs
    5. ColourŠ How easy is it on the eye? You can use a wonderful selection of
    colours if used appropriately.
    6. Consistency AND Consistency
    7. White space.. Plenty of it
    8. ImagesŠ How creative are theyŠ If cutouts have you used paths accurately?
    Photoshop skills are a mustŠ
    9. Using the correct curly quotes
    10. Never use justified type ;)

    Yours Sincerely

Reasons for not using Justifying type

    1. Its a dated office style, people when they first started using
wordprocessors got carried away with fully justified type, and thought it
looked cool and over used it
    2. Its uglyŠ It creates rivers in the text (ugly gaps between words that are
    inconsistent)
    3. Its notoriously difficult to read, as every line is the same width,
therefore when you get to the end of the line the eye can't determine which
    line to read next..
    4. Left justified type works best (its beautiful so embrace it) most often
as usually the eye works best with staggered lines of text, and the spacing
    between the text is consistent
    5. Don't make the mistake of mixing the justifications on a given page

    Yours Sincerely

As a student of web development, we're actually told not to justify our
content mainly because of the tons of white space that leads to gaping holes
and too much compression makes the text squashed and hard to read. Also,
something about the raged text is easier to follow - or something like that.

The design is very busy, there are way too many different fonts going on there. Good typography in design can be difficult to master, but it should be strived for nonetheless.

VALIDATE your HTML and CSS before posting your site for critique; it helps to shake out mistakes and typos (and other errors) in the stylesheet and HTML.

Why on earth this site isn't on some kind of CMS is beyond me; that simplifies a lot of issues right off the bat.

hasnt anyone noticed this dosent work in Chrome? The main section must be
positioned absolutely or something because its not centred and is all the
way to right of my screen.

    I dare look in IE6 or 7

Thanks joe, real great. Its not that bad have a look at some css galleries
to get an idea of what other designers are doing I get alot of inspiration
and learn new things just by looking at other websites. Maybe lose the red
and go for a grey gradient or white background or if you want a dark look
maybe #252525 (light black) <- looks good though

    Hi all,

Nice reading all your posts here. Its excellent. Can someone help me
about the advantages of opening our business services on FACEBOOK
without losing money on this site. www.spousegarden.com - Its a dating
    website.

We fear opening our services on facebook as we may not earn full
reward from that. but then, we also want to look beyond this fear and
see how we can benefit from that platform.

Thanks all, your opinions are welcome

    1. Google updated their search algorithm is year (panda 2.0) and Google is using social signals to determine your search rankings. (fb, twitter, and G+1 are all good for your website)

    2. Your prospect is on facebook for an average of 3 hrs a day. Help your biz stay in front of them.

    3. You can create a custom Facebook fan page with a landing page and drive traffic to spousegarden.com. This is the one I created for my company: www.Facebook.com/websitedesignNJ
