Andrew Robertson <dsquaredmedia.canada@gmail.com>: May 16 09:44PM -0400 I just want to say a quick thank you to everyone who has answered my call for help. You are all kind in offering your insight and expertise - I am in no way an SEO or Google expert. *I have a lot to learn still.* > visible code. Once in the title and once in the keywords. > It would also help if you used the phrase near the top of the page and in > a H1 tag. *Should be the largest text on the page. That's good to know. I will dig up the page and see what I can change to make the H1 tag stronger along with not spamming Google 15 times. These are all occurring using the YOAST SEO plugin for Wordpress. What's the site made in? Wordpress? > What is the site for? > Lots more content needed. > Social media? The site was made in Wordpress, so I assumed that it was fairly good to begin with but obviously I am wrong. I've tried the incognito mode, but it still didn't work. You comment about the *more content is needed* makes total sense and I will begin work on curating more information. The group is a little slow on the social medial fixes as they are dealing with a sticky situation. The website is for a not-for-profit group that is to help people with traumatic brain injuries in PEI, Canada. So I put this together quickly for them. While your reply is kind, it is also incorrect. This is a simple lack of > longer. Google needs many people to repeatedly go to this site after trying > to find the site and ending up there eventually after they are given the > url from the owner that is promoting the site to them. Thank you Jay for responding to myself, and everyone here. So I can, and hopefully will, add more text to this site, but if I understand your statement correctly, in a little while (a few months) and more backlinks through Facebook and news paper articles, it should start to place a little higher when using the actual name of *Brain Injury Association of PEI*? After you change the name to html text ask Google to crawl your website, What do you mean by *change the name to html text. *Is that merely adding the name to a header tag within the website? |
Jay Bale <jaybale@gmail.com>: May 17 10:29AM -0400 Andrew, No header tags my friend, all you need to do is make your name in text so Google can read it. Now it is an image. See below. You can keep the head as an image, however the words "Brain Injury Association of Prince Edward Island" needs to be in text. That's all you need to do. Nothing else and all finished. I promise!
