Digest for seo1@googlegroups.com - 1 update in 1 topic

Reg Charie <reg.charie@gmail.com>: May 29 02:35PM -0800

The primary factor to change would be to strip the image of the text
out of the logo and replace it with real text in a H1 tag.
Right under that h1 text, write [ in h2 ], a keyword phrase that
describes the h1 tag's keywords.
Also, put the primary phone number somewhere in the header. I would
also use a h2 for the phone.

Remember, h1 is the largest text on the page. H2 the 2nd largest.
Google sees h3 [Which should be the same size as default bold], as the
3rd most important text.

Digest for seo1@googlegroups.com - 2 updates in 1 topic

Andrew Robertson <dsquaredmedia.canada@gmail.com>: May 16 09:44PM -0400

I just want to say a quick thank you to everyone who has answered my call
for help. You are all kind in offering your insight and expertise - I am in
no way an SEO or Google expert. *I have a lot to learn still.*

> visible code. Once in the title and once in the keywords.
> It would also help if you used the phrase near the top of the page and in
> a H1 tag. *Should be the largest text on the page.

That's good to know. I will dig up the page and see what I can change to
make the H1 tag stronger along with not spamming Google 15 times. These are
all occurring using the YOAST SEO plugin for Wordpress.

What's the site made in? Wordpress?
> What is the site for?
> Lots more content needed.
> Social media?

The site was made in Wordpress, so I assumed that it was fairly good to
begin with but obviously I am wrong. I've tried the incognito mode, but it
still didn't work. You comment about the *more content is needed* makes
total sense and I will begin work on curating more information. The group
is a little slow on the social medial fixes as they are dealing with a
sticky situation.

The website is for a not-for-profit group that is to help people with
traumatic brain injuries in PEI, Canada. So I put this together quickly for
them.

While your reply is kind, it is also incorrect. This is a simple lack of
> longer. Google needs many people to repeatedly go to this site after trying
> to find the site and ending up there eventually after they are given the
> url from the owner that is promoting the site to them.

Thank you Jay for responding to myself, and everyone here. So I can, and
hopefully will, add more text to this site, but if I understand your
statement correctly, in a little while (a few months) and more backlinks
through Facebook and news paper articles, it should start to place a little
higher when using the actual name of *Brain Injury Association of PEI*?

After you change the name to html text ask Google to crawl your website,

What do you mean by *change the name to html text. *Is that merely adding
the name to a header tag within the website?
Jay Bale <jaybale@gmail.com>: May 17 10:29AM -0400

Andrew,

No header tags my friend, all you need to do is make your name in text so
Google can read it. Now it is an image. See below.

You can keep the head as an image, however the words "Brain Injury
Association of Prince Edward Island" needs to be in text.
That's all you need to do. Nothing else and all finished. I promise!

Best,
Jay Bale

Digest for seo1@googlegroups.com - 1 update in 1 topic

Andrew Robertson <dsquaredmedia.canada@gmail.com>: May 15 12:21PM -0700

Hi,

I have a quick question and I do apologize if it has been answered or
touched on before - I am an amateur and appreciate any help you suggest or
provide.

When I search for my friend's site that I created, I can can find it when
using the actual domain (http://www.braininjurypei.info) or when searching
the meta description. However, when I search for it using the actual title
of *Brain Injury Association of PEI, *it does not appear at all.

Any thoughts and suggestions would be most appreciated!

Cheers,
Andrew

Improvements to our Privacy Policy and Privacy Controls

Google
Updating Our Privacy Policy
This month, we're updating our Privacy Policy to make it easier for you to understand what information we collect and why we collect it. We've also taken steps to improve our Privacy Checkup and other controls we provide to safeguard your data and protect your privacy.
Nothing is changing about your current settings or how your information is processed. Rather, we've improved the way we describe our practices and how we explain the options you have to update, manage, export, and delete your data.
We're making these updates as new data protection regulations come into effect in the European Union, and we're taking the opportunity to make improvements for Google users around the world.
Making our Privacy Policy easier to understand
Simpler structure & clearer language
We've improved the navigation and organization of the policy to make it easier to find what you're looking for. We've also explained our practices in more detail and with clearer language.
New descriptive videos & illustrations
Often a visual description is easier to understand than text alone, so we've added short videos and illustrations throughout the policy.
Embedded privacy controls
We've made it easier to jump to key settings directly from the policy, helping you make choices about your privacy.
The revised policy is available here and will take effect on May 25, 2018.
Improving your privacy controls
Within the past year, we updated My Activity so that you can better access and manage the data in your Google Account. We also launched a redesigned Dashboard, which allows you to easily see an overview of products you're using and your data associated with them.
This month, we've updated our Privacy Checkup with new illustrations and examples to help you make more informed choices about your key privacy controls. And since we understand that your preferences may change over time, the new Privacy Checkup enables you to sign up for regular reminders to check your privacy settings.
To learn more about these and other controls to manage your privacy, visit your Google Account.
