    Fairly broad question. Guest posting is a link strategy but not directly.
    Your profile has a link to your website and you build your reputation via
    writing and engaging via comments. It is very tempting to add links to
    your content but should be avoided. You can however link to relevant
    content when called for.. but less is more.
     
    Your overall theme should be consistent it is no good writing about SEO one
    day and then vases the next so do not see it as a method to promote
    clients websites..
     
    Ideally you would use your guest blog to build your reputation with like
    minded people. If they become interested in your writing they will look at
    your profile and follow that to your website. The more engagement you
    receive via comments the more search engines will do the same.
     
    So use it to build your credibility and view it as a longer term investment.
