    Hi Ravi,

your design is good, but you are not using the right font, use the font

you have no clue how to be polite to someone trying to become a web

    was learning.

like I said when our sites are up and running we can do a vote on here. to

What? are you still going through puberty?Š. Sometimes its better to say
what you see then beat around the bush, if its poor design, then say so, not
    encourage bad design.

I already gave my top ten design tips to an earlier post, not going to do it
again if no one bothers reading it. You either get design or you don't no
matter how much you educate someoneŠ. So by saying poor design.. that¹s
exactly what it means. The internet is a medium that has 20% good design and
the other 80% poor design. This is why not many people know what is good
    from bad.

    Yours Sincerely

Now THIS is constructive criticism. AND Niko is a kick-ass designer who doesn't seem to feel that sharing his knowledge with someone wanting to learn will pose a threat. :)

I'll add to Niko's punch list now.

    1. The yellow is out of place with the rest of the color palette. It's not in the same color hue and seems jarring.
    2. I agree about the typography. The "script" or "brush" font isn't doing it for me. I suggest possibly using a serif font for your titles. That mixes well with the sans-serif font of your body text. You can go a bit more "wild" with the "Nutts 'n' Spices" text to give a bit of visual interest.
    3. Is it "Nuts 'n' Spices" or "Nutts and Spices" (in the footer). Consistency is the key.
    4. "Powed" in the footer should be "Powered."

Well maybe he didn't "get your memo." Maybe he didn't read your article. And I think when people come to this group asking for a critique, they're looking for something specific to their design, not a cookie-cutter response. No matter. Hang on the group long enough and you learn who to listen to and who not to.

    - Poor use of the statistical method. (or to paraphrase you; "bad math.")
    - The internet is not a medium.

It sometimes depends on what features the site has or will have which CMS is chosen. I generally work with WordPress (since 2004), CMS Made Simple (since 2007), and MovableType (since 2002), and occasionally Drupal, GetSimple CMS and others. Others in this group may have their favorites, some of which I haven't mentioned, such as Joomla!, Silverstripe, Expression Engine, TextPattern, etc.

Any site can pretty much be ported to any CMS if you know what you are doing. The best thing to do is set up a sandbox somewhere for a handful of CMSs and learn them well. Best not to try to be jack of all trades, master of none, IMHO.

The design is very busy, there are way too many different fonts going on there. Good typography in design can be difficult to master, but it should be strived for nonetheless.

VALIDATE your HTML and CSS before posting your site for critique; it helps to shake out mistakes and typos (and other errors) in the stylesheet and HTML.

Why on earth this site isn't on some kind of CMS is beyond me; that simplifies a lot of issues right off the bat.
