    Hi Gys,
is there a free alternative to Dreamweaver.

We use dreamweaver in the office but I would like to do bits and pieces in
the evening at home on a laptop and don't wan to have to buy another copy.
All i would do in plain HTML writing and javascript generally. I find the
colour coding of the scripts handy.

    many thanks

    Hi guys

Aptana is another app you might want to try

Alternatively, if you don't need the WYSIWYG element, try Notepad++ which
    is also free

My editor of choice is Sublime Text 2 - although it's still got a beta tag,
it's only because inconstant development. I run it all day long and it's
never crashed on me. It's not free but will run forever and nag you from
time to time. Personally, I bought a licence and I think it's well worth
it. It's multi-platform too and your licence allows you personal use on as
many computers as you use. You will need to invest some time in order to
get the most out of it.

I'm not affiliated in any way. I'm a big fan - it's feature rich and will
save you shedloads of time. For example, the command palette (Ctrl-Shift-P)
allows you to access any of the commands - once it opens start typing any
    of the menu commands.

For example - create a new CSS file:
    Ctrl + N (new file)
Ctrl-Shift-P to open the command pallette
type CSS and press enter(this will set the syntax colouring)

Job done. Well almost, you need to write the code :-)

    Cheers,
    Mick
