Several months ago I came to Doug Peters with a request for graphic
design of a new Bible-centric web site called AnswersFromTheBook.com. Doug did a
terrific job conceptualizing and implementing the graphics. The site
is now up and running. You can view the graphics and, if you like,
provide feedback on this forum.

Nice work. Love the book/scroll concept. I also like that the header (reader) changes from page to page. Nice and subtle way to indicate the site is for everyone, no matter who they are. I took a peek at the source code b/c I was anxious to see what CMS was being used (I think Doug prefers MODx). Couldn't figure that one out and it will bug me until I do or until one of you fesses up. :)

On a personal note, I worked for the late Dr. Charles Halff, the founder of the Christian Jew Foundation many years ago before embarking on a legal secretarial (and later a web design) career. You might be interested to read some of his writings.

I don't know anything about any legacy features built in IE6. Last year, they were still using IE6 in my office - until I pushed to upgrade to Win7... Now they're discovering tabbed views...

That is why I said to look at your analytics and see what percentage of your
browsers use which browsers. Build the website with the audience in mind,
and if most of them are office people still using XP with IE6 then you need
to include it, but if all you get is say 5% of your viewser using IE6 then
you have to ask is it worth your time to carter to them. In other words
spend most of your time and budget pleasing the majority of your market

Youtube will still be your best bet, for a number of reasons:
1. Video files are huge, and to stream videos you wll need a server
optimized for handling huge volumes of data. Youtube takes care of that -
they provide a loss-less compression of your uploads.
2. You need flash to embed a video, so it won't play on iOS platforms. And
flash does a really bad job compressing the video. Again, you avoid that
hassle by embedding a video that is actually on youtube.
3. Visibility. Your videos on Youtube will have a ffar better chance of
getting picked up by search engines.
