- PHP/MySQL mail() error [6 Updates]

Hi,
I am working from a book on PHP/MySQL. I am currently trying to send an
email to a list of people in my database. The script I think is fine
(copied from author).
The error message I get is:
Warning: mail() [function.mail]: Failed to connect to mailserver at
"localhost" port 25, verify your "SMTP" and "smtp_port" setting in php.ini
or use ini_set() in C:\wamp\www\sendemail.php on line 28
What exactly does this mean and am I missing a step? Also I am using a
Windows 7 machine with WAMP and a testing server has been set up.

What is the value of smtp_port in ur php.ini?

It's a different value than 25. Do I need to change it?

my guess would be that if you are on a testing server, ie your own
development computer, you don't have an SMTP server setup.
Have you tried on an actual server space?
