I have a large fasta file used for mapping. Since the sequences stored in
the file are used as references, they will be repeatedly used and also
viewed in GBrowse. If anyone has the experience, would you please suggest
me how the data could be stored in database? My idea is to put each
sequence on disk, and store the paths in DB.

Thanks Joe. I heard Hadoop is also a mapreduce kind of database; will
check it out.
