As always, Joni, you are right on top of things. ;) Unfortunately, they
(the Vikings) sucked last year. Hopefully they will straighten things out
with some great draft choices.
But it is interesting to note that you will see lots more purple, yellow
and white (team colors) in the Minnesota and surrounding are than you will
see anywhere else. ;)
I am also a fan of the Sioux Falls Storm (Red, Blue, Black & White) who, by
the way, are the current Indoor Football League (IFL) Champions (looking to
repeat) and previously held the United Bowl Cup for 4 seasons in a row (The
Intense Football League bought the United Football League and formed the
current Indoor Football League, the United Bowl Cup remains the
championship cup, at least for our conference).
Bet you weren't thinking you would be educated on the Indoor Football
League today, eh? LOL

I would change out the purple for a light blue and add some golden
highlights, myself.
I'm actually a big fan of purple, but I don't think it meshes. Most kids
start out liking purple, but as we grow older we tend to dislike it. Maybe
because it gos with less things (other colors and styles).
Purple used to be so expensive that only royalty could afford it. That
gives it that elite-est feel, something that doesn't transend all economic
diversities of humanity.
Purple is a good color to use when you can incorporate it to give the
"upper class" looking down on the "unwashed" feel that you would get as a
banker or financial officer, a doctor or a CEO of a large corporation, as a
king or titled royalty.
So, it doesn't see lots of use unless there are team colors associated with
it (Minnesota Vikings, Baltimer Ravens).

Excellent advice. Try teal/turquoise of the photo and/or dark blue/navy. Do you use any tools to help you pick complimentary colors such as a color wheel?

The royalty thing is most interesting. A seashell (murex, as i recall) was
boiled to extract royal purple to dye robes, etc. Any commoner found in
possession of said shell was summarily executed. My aunt was
an archaeologist and gave me one when I was a child and told the story
behind it. I was spared from being beheaded, but am still part of the 99%.
