Just a brief note to mention that we're running a series of webinars on
usability, user experience and Agile called Guerrilla UCD. It's aimed at a
broad audience including web designers and developers.

The first webinar, which is a one-hour overview of all 16 in the series is
free and due to run next Wednesday (23 May) at 16:30 London time (see the
    web site for other times).

Visit www.guerrillaucd.com for more details and to sign up for the free
webinar. (You have to put it in your basket and checkout but there's
    nothing to pay, honest.)

    Regards,

Chris, you are beating a dead horse. Some people come on here because they
genuinely want to learn. Others ... not so much.

Signing up to gain access to a site is one thing. My best friend's forum
operated that way for a long time. But you KNEW it was a forum before you
signed up. In your case, you have done NOTHING to explain to the site
visitor WHY he should sign up.

I think there have been some great suggestions here. But, OP, do as you
wish. But have an understanding of the average Internet user. They have
the attention span of a gnat. If you don't grab that attention by giving
them a COMPELLING reason to click through to your site, it will end up so
much web lint. And who needs more of that?

I added a tour to the mobile site (http://ruarch.net)

Now you are getting somewhere... By the way, I really like the curtain
effect on your main website. All CSS, no javascript. Very nice!

Since you are being so receptive to suggestions now.. lets talk about the
styling of your webapp. I have been working in mobile quite a bit.. I went
through a lot of platforms such as sencha touch and jquery mobile. Finally
    I found bootstrap http://twitter.github.com/bootstrap/ and
more specifically bootswatch http://bootswatch.com/ which combines jquery
mobile functionality with the twitter bootstrap UI. Check it out
